Peacock Sword Capelet
This capelet is a small coverlet for the shoulders. It is short enough to accentuate the waist, creating a feminine silhouette. Each soft feather "petal" is made by positioning six iridescent "sword" tail feathers together, fanning out from the center. This multilayered petal is stitched onto a double-layer, black ostrich plume. These petals are then individually stitched to the black wool bouclé base. The capelet is lined with black silk charmeuse.
The feather "petals" are made in various lengths and sizes, starting small near the shoulders and growing larger toward the bottom of the capelet. The bright iridescent colors vary in pattern from feather to feather.
